About Your Therapist
Hi, my name is Lee Minion.
I have studied the function and movement of the body in-depth for many years through, training and teaching Karate, which currently I do as chief instructor for the British Karate Academy, Derby Karate Academy and formerly as head coach for the England Wado-Kai Karate Squad.
This appreciation of what our bodies endure during training activities, as well as in our daily working lives, you will find is reflected in my holistic approach to my therapy treatments.
I first found the benefits of massage after taking part in week long training courses with my Japanese Karate instructors, where at the end of the sessions we were shown basic Shiatsu techniques to sooth our aching bodies.
After some time I decided to look into alternative therapies such as Shiatsu, Reiki and Massage procedures in more depth. Realising that everyone can benefit from massage and not just sports people, I began giving treatments from a studio in Derby, after being qualified by the International Therapy Examination Council. (I.T.E.C.)
Since then I've had a purpose built therapy room attached to my home where I currently treat all of my clients. This enables me to still give high quality treatments and keep the costs down for my client base.
